Job Description

We're looking for a senior software engineer that loves to lean into new challenges on the frontier of AI engineering, pushing the boundaries of accuracy, reliability, and performance for our policy & legal intelligence platform.

At Legible AI, we are pioneering the future of lawmaking in US state legislatures. This fast-growing seed-stage startup was founded by two individuals with a deep background in state government hell bent on simplifying the process of managing policy, driving legislative outcomes, and writing better laws.

This engineer will help lead development efforts directly alongside the technical cofounder and head of product and two other engineers as we scale our platform across all 50 states and increase its value to our dedicated customers by an order of magnitude.

Responsibilities

• Writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code
• Designing and implementing state of the art AI pipelines and solutions
• Participating as a key team member in customer discovery, roadmap creation, and technical feasibility discussions.
• Support test and deployment of new products and features
• Driving the legacy world of state government into the future through elegant, intuitive, powerful solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field)
• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Expertise in Object Oriented Design, Database Design, and modern microservice architecture
• Startup experience preferred
• Willingness to invest deeply in the customer experience, understand their journey, and act as a key decision-maker in the product development process.
