Hermes Landscaping Inc. – Senior Project Manager – Construction Operations (On-Site, Lenexa, KS)

Hermes Landscaping is seeking a Senior Project Manager will drive cross-functional construction projects from inception to completion aligning with company policies, timelines, and strategic objectives. As a nationally recognized, award-winning leader in the $120 billion landscaping industry, we’re looking for an ambitious, hands-on Senior Project Manager to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to quality standards.

The Role

The Senior Project Manager will oversee the lifecycle of complex projects across multiple verticals throughout our organization including but not limited to: commercial construction, commercial maintenance, residential design build, insurance, finance and administration. The Senior Project Manager will oversee projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards by managing teams, resources, and communication with customers and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include developing schedules and budgets, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, resolving disputes, and providing regular progress reports to clients and senior management.

Core Responsibilities Include :

Project Management & Execution :

  • Drive cross-functional construction financial projects from inception to completion, aligning with company policies, timelines, and strategic objectives.

Compliance & Risk Management :

  • Ensure full adherence to OSHA, DOT, legal, and regulatory standards in construction; oversee insurance strategies and risk mitigation protocols.

Project Planning and Execution

  • Lead and manage the entire project lifecycle, from preconstruction to closeout.
  • Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including vendors, general contractors and subcontractors, to ensure alignment and smooth execution.

Budget and Cost Control

  • Prepare, track, and manage project budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor and control project costs, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
  • Review and verify payments and handle the overall fiscal management for multiple projects.

Team Leadership and Communication

  • Lead and mentor project teams, including site managers and junior project managers and administrative staff.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Risk management and Compliance

  • Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans for potential challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, building codes, and regulations.
  • Resolve complex issues, disputes, and disagreements that arise during the construction phase.
  • Conduct quality analysis and control to ensure work meets specifications and standards.

Essential Skills & Qualifications :

  • Proven Administrative & Financial Leadership : Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field, or 5-7 years in a Senior Project Manager/Senior Administrative Management role; construction industry experience preferred.
  • Strategic & Hands-On Mindset : Ability to drill into details, ask critical questions, and take full ownership of financial and operational outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Cross-Functional Facilitation : Demonstrated success resolving issues, making decisions, and leading diverse teams in complex, multi-department construction settings.
  • Communication & Influence : Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and diplomatic skills to build alignment and drive financial results.
  • Prioritization & Execution : Strong project management discipline to deliver financial initiatives on time, on budget, and with measurable impact.
