Hays has partnered with a leading developer, owner, and operator of commercial real estate in Dallas, Texas , who is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to oversee operations at a premier 600,000 SF Class A office property spanning two towers .

Your new role

As the Lead Building Engineer , you will be the senior technical authority on-site, responsible for leading the engineering team and ensuring optimal performance of all building systems. This role combines hands-on expertise with strategic oversight, covering all aspects of building operations. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and mentoring a team of building engineers and maintenance staff.
• Overseeing mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems across both towers.
• Managing and optimizing the preventative maintenance program.
• Conducting regular audits of building management systems and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Coordinating with property management and tenants to resolve issues efficiently.
• Reviewing and completing work orders while maintaining accurate maintenance records.
• Identifying and resolving irregular equipment performance and implementing corrective procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum of 5+ years of technical experience in a Class A office environment .
• Proven leadership experience in facilities or engineering management.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
