Manager, Interior Design - Hybrid (Orlando, FL)

Our client, a leader in the hospitality industry, is seeking a talented and experienced Manager, Interior Design to join their innovative Strategic Development team in Orlando, Florida.

This hybrid role offers the best of both worlds: collaborate in person Monday-Wednesday at our vibrant Orlando office, and enjoy the flexibility of working from home Thursday-Friday .

What You'll Do & How You'll Make an Impact:

As our Manager, Interior Design, you'll be at the forefront of shaping exceptional guest experiences across a diverse portfolio of resorts. You'll play a critical role in managing third-party design consultants, ensuring every project aligns with our brand standards, budget, and vision.

  • Lead Design Excellence: Oversee up to 25 renovation projects simultaneously , guiding third-party design firms from initial concept to successful completion.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Prepare compelling RFPs and actively manage the bidding process for multiple renovation projects, ensuring strict adherence to brand standards, quality, budget, and timelines.
  • Collaborate & Influence: Conduct site visits across the US, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean (up to 35% travel, passport required!), collaborating closely with resort managers, HOA boards, operational leaders, and procurement teams.
  • Drive Project Success: Facilitate weekly project reviews, conduct rigorous QA/QC meetings, and provide timely responses to RFIs and submittals, ensuring projects stay on track and within scope.
  • Uphold Brand Integrity: Be the ultimate guardian of our brand standards, ensuring every design element reflects our commitment to excellence.
  • Hands-On Design (when needed): Occasionally manage your own interior design projects, from concept and space planning to FF&E selection, budget management, and construction administration.

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a passionate and results-driven individual with a strong background in hospitality or commercial interior design.

  • Proven Experience: 6-8 years of progressive responsibility in hospitality or commercial design, with a strong preference for hospitality renovation experience.
  • Educational Foundation: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited program or equivalent is preferred. (Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree!)
  • Communication Powerhouse: Exceptional written and oral communication skills are essential for this role, enabling you to clearly articulate design concepts and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Construction Savvy: Familiarity with construction management, including terminology, codes, life safety, construction documents, sequencing, and the full project delivery lifecycle ("concept to closeout").
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to interpret budgets and legal/contractual documentation.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and guide design teams, as well as establish and evaluate relationships with outsourced design firms.
  • Software Proficiency: Required: Revit or AutoCAD.
  • Proficient: Adobe Photoshop & InDesign, Microsoft Suite.
  • Desired: Specification writing software experience.
  • Customer-Centric: A commitment to providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external partners.
  • Industry Acumen: Familiarity with reserve programs and philosophy, including understanding useful life expectations for interior and exterior components.
  • Certifications: Professional designation or other industry-related certifications are a plus!
