Role Overview

Based in our Miami studio, the Design Director will be instrumental in driving the creative vision, maintaining design excellence, and expanding our presence in the region. This senior leadership role involves overseeing a team of talented designers, managing high-profile clients, and delivering world-class projects that align with 1508 London’s values.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the creative direction and delivery of luxury residential and hospitality projects in the Asia-Pacific region.
• Mentor and inspire a team of designers to achieve design excellence and innovation.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and quality standards, ensuring seamless execution from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with the global leadership team to align with 1508 London’s strategic goals and brand vision.
• Identify opportunities for business development and establish a strong presence for 1508 London in the American Market.

Requirements

• Architecture/Interior Architecture or Interior Higher Qualification.
• Portfolio demonstrating design excellence in high-end hospitality, residential and ships (not essential but beneficial).
• Experience mentoring and coaching staff.
• Confident pitching and presenting schemes to clients.
• Experience across all RIBA stages of a project
• Ideally have experience over $1 million project values.
• Strong knowledge of FF&E and Interior Design
• Astute business understanding.
• Articulate and refined design ability and style.
• Experience with AutoCAD, InDesign, SketchUp, Illustrator, Photoshop, and hand sketching.
• Must be willing to learn, meet deadlines, and take initiative.
• Revit and 3D Rendering are a plus, but not required.
