Job Description
Position Overview Family owned company with 30+ year history and a strong backlog of projects seeks an experienced civil estimator to join their growing team.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects including earthwork, pump stations, wastewater treatment facilities, and more.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and required resources.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather project information and clarify requirements.
- Utilize estimating software such as HCSS and Carlson to generate estimates.
- Conduct market research to assess material and labor costs for various civil construction tasks.
- Review and analyze subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for clients.
- Monitor project budgets and provide regular updates on potential cost overruns or savings.
Required Qualifications - 5+ years civil estimating experience
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Utility or process piping experience strongly preferred
- HCSS, Carlson (or similar) software experience a plus
